Lessons from chemistry

Hellooo! I'm back with more chemistry to give you people! But this will be on a different view.

So people always think that chemistry is nothing but remembering the periodic table and about being good at math. But then there's far more to that. The discipline is actually a good reminder of a few things in life, specially about people. From the simplicity of sharing (covalent bonds) and the fact that some people survive in a give and take environment too (ionic bonds).

But more than that, it teaches about life too.

Stability

Atoms, more than anything, want to be stable. That's why they bond, that's why they break down into individual atoms when their bond becomes too unstable or toxic. That's why they know how to leave the molecule or compound when they know that they'll be more stable alone. That's why they give, take or share their electrons. Sounds familiar right? Don't people also do this? They make friends and bond, leave when unwated or when they know they can stand on their own. Fascinating, right?

Following trends and behaviors

I'm not talking about the latest fashion trends or what. Here, you see, atoms also follow a trend in behavior. They can react in a certain way similar to all the elements in it's group. It's similar with people and how they fall into personality types, stereotypes, horoscopes perhaps? (Though I'm not a fan). Don't a certain personality type react a certain way with exposure to a certain event? It makes people a bit predictable with behavior, right? Same with chemicals. That's why we learn to handle them with care. Not in the same kind of care we do with people, of course.

The closer you are, the stronger the bond

I think this goes without a needed explanation. But anyways, it's harder to break down a molecule when they're basically overlapping. This is shown in triple bonds that are the most stable compounds. It's hard to separate those, you'd need to do so much just to break those up. It's similar to our bonds with our friends and loved ones.

It's relating science to life and i don't think learning a principle that way will ever be a waste
